Old Home Week Blooms Big

Lew and I are blown away by the number of visitors two weeks ago in August, but more about the number of Bundles walking out the door. A harvest of nine in three days One bet is that being at a Vermont Welcome Center at Mile 68 on I91 in Hartford has something to do with this burst. And no rain.

We started off that week with our sweet friend Sasha and her momma. Two dolls were snapped and shoed sent the next day to this doll lover. And I engaged her to pick and choose fabrics for her Terry Turtle. Next comes a couple engaged by the display who made an appointment to travel over two hours to meet the dolls in person. Another two babies left home. A phone call from an old friend of our daughters, after reviewing the paper catalog and website, chose Miss Zoe who was mailed immediately. Finally, a lady who bought a doll 39 years ago, returned to chose Destry, Millicent and Gretchen Goose and was delighted to receive the 10 percent returning customer reward. Do you count nine? Our shelves are empty. I am not crying, but is now nine days later and there have been no visitors or sales.

I may have to hire a big sewing team. The Chester Fall Festival is a month away and the dolls up north are going September 4 to the Guilford Vermont Welcome Center for the month. Meanwhile Ed and Joan patiently wait for their special prize, Justice Ginsburg who needs her robe. Got to go sew.
