When asked to provide a doll to the Chester brochure team for a display case at the Vermont Welcome Center in Guilford for July, Beatrice said, “Can I go?” The inspiration for this doll, the real Beatrice is our granddaughter, and is presently in Japan for two weeks with her school exchange program. The Sushi doll raffle helped send her there.
Then when the setup coordinator had few takers from Chester, she asked me for a buddy for the real eyed charmer. Agatha, with dark brown curls and forget-me-not flower motif eyes—an opposite, asked to be Bea’s companion. They will grace the case and send guests to our gallery doors. Beatrice will remind them to drive slowly in the historic stone village, and Agatha will encourage them to stop and smell the flowers in our yard.
