Where do I start? First nature. The leaves on one tree are starting to turn color and fall. The turkeys are making weekly visits. Geese are practicing flyovers off the Williams River. Deer are grousing in neighbor Barney’s lower field. Our stone house stays cool on those hot days.
Then there is husband Lew’s print show now showing at Chester’s Whiting Library for September and October. I cooked up fabulous treats for the happy patrons. It has been a journey cleaning the attic, throwing out stuff, cleaning and starting up the letterpress, and finding years of art. Our best find was the “Attic Angels,” a pen and ink on paper, crayon colored years ago by the Watters girls. It is featured on my Invitation page on our redesigned website, and the framed original is featured in Lew’s Art in Print show at the Whiting. Later it will hang here in the gallery.
The Chester Rotary Fall Festival on the Green is September 17 and 18, so I am finishing panties, wigs and favorites to have on the Green—41 years for Bonnie’s Bundles Dolls. Being the only sale doll remaining, Sarah said, “Put me in a raffle on the Green to celebrate Bundle owners over the 42 years in Chester.” No one else can enter, just doll owners. Not to be left out, everyone can buy a raffle ticket to win Sharon, the sheep doll, to benefit Whiting Library. How appropriate our sweet town librarian is Sharon. My Shining Stars Sophie and Scarlett are featured in the Festival Facebook page. Here they are wearing “I am sold, order me,” buttons as I cannot keep up with the orders for these two 2016 winners.
We continue to enjoy southern Vermont Bike Tour guests. Lew’s small-framed Stone Village letterpress print is their chance to win a souvenir raffle prize at the end of the season.
Here is the end all. I will have a copy of the Attic Angels on display. I will share Bags of Joy (fabric scraps) and have a Create a Face activity to bring back eager children who want to learn to sew with Bonnie.
